did think of doing that but means a 3 hour drive to get there...

TBH i was thinking around 18k i guess. maybe 19 not really sure. could do with the latter to ease the house/noble fund...

kin slow you would be TOO scared to drive the car....

Am I right in saying a JDM car is more expensive than a spec C to buy new? ......

The spec C is also much lower spec'd with regard to toys. Its well regarded in the performance market but not everyone's cup of tea, hence your market is restricted. Think CSL and the big drops these took

In which case I would say £16-£17K. Maybe start at £17,500 and look to get £17K

Great car and good luck with the sale.

Brand new, a MY06 Spec C commands another £1k over the standard JDM STi.

Whilst the Spec C does drop some of the toys, it gains some far more useful and expensive kit.

Perhaps expensive was the wrong word to use, but this lot ain't cheap.

Thinner lightweight glass
Lightweight roof
Aluminum boot lid
Different radiator, water pump and additional engine & transmission oil coolers
A roller bearing version of the twin scroll turbo
Performance revolving chamber fuel pump

All things which are important to a very limited market.........much the same as a CSL in comparison to a std M3. Its also import only

Ask 1,000 people if they would buy an import and I bet 800 say no in the first instance. Of the remaining 200 how many want a car with no sound deadening, no boot carpet as std etc etc.....like I say, limited market.

It is however the only scoob I would consider.......but then im not normal

While the Spec C has a more limited market, it is by it's nature more exclusive (as regards to rarity). While this has it's down falls, it also helps the resale value some what.

At the end of the day, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay though.

Regards,
Shaun.

I agree if someone is looking for that style of car he will probably be willing to pay more ....... however if you NEED to sell and that certain someone isnt looking you will be forced to 'have your pants pulled down' and get what you can.

I think Gutmann is right. Look at all the above, if you need a replacement it's a shipment from Japan or the breakers if your lucky, either way a real ball ache to replace. So the residual it commands on new would be lost imo.

I thought seriously before buying my JDM Sti vs Spec 'C' and went with the std STi as it has a lot more toys and I had gig concerns over the thinner glass. Since acquiring the car I have had two big hits to my windscreen on the motorway at 80mph ish, one a large stone, the other a duck!! Had it been a Spec 'C' I would now be on my third windscreen that I am sure.

Perhaps if I stated I owned a Spec C myself, you would realise why I havent given my full view on it's worth...... as I would only be condemned as being biased!

Shaun.

Steve's Spec C has air-con and chewing gum tyres - well it sticks to the road better than any car I've ever been in!!!!

Got all the right toys on it, including DCCD-A, looks the part and has LOTS of admirers

If I wasnt looking at Flats, then I'd be biting his arm off
