I could be wrong but,

I have heard it is a very bad idea to powder coat alloy as it can seriously weaken the wheels, its something to do with th process I beleive.

had some wheels of mine powder coated in birmingham, place called bournes in digbeth, not a specialist wheel refurbers,do all sorts of stuff, but if your wheels are not damaged on the rims too much, they can do a good job for very cheap money.... strip wheel, coat, bake and laquer for £15 a rim.... if they are kerbed pretty badly then a proper wheel refurber will have to do them, theres a place on the tyburn road but i cant remember the name of it at the moment, will cost around £40 a wheel plus vat for them to do it though

Bournes phone number 01216666595

Anyone know of anywhere in North East for this - especially @ £15 per wheel!! sounds a bargain!

I've seen wheels break after powdercoating, I don't think it's very usual though. The baking temp is much high for PC, could be a factor.

more of a reason to keep them clean then ,ive had bike and car wheels powder coated in the past and never had a problem, might depend on the alloy compasite though whether the powder coating process damages the wheel or not.
