Built into glass and registered 02 so that cures it! An MY02 is the same as a version 7 then?

There isnt a 'Version 7' nor a 'Version 8'; Subaru stopped numbering STI models after the V6 Classic. Version 7 or Version 8 is an ignorant nonsense anyway; TypeUK cars havent matched the JDM release of STI models, making it completely meaningless.
