Yeah my local Shell was out as well..... Gonna have to travel a couple of miles further, but will be filling up with Tesco 99RON instead....

I never seem to put more than a tenner in at a time, but would make more sense to go to Tesco more often, and put in £20 - £30 worth really!!

Hi guys,

Had a similar problem on Saturday afternoon. Typical as I was just going to Bob Rawle for a re-map! As luck would have it after an HOUR of searching I finally got some!

Spoke to a Shell tanker driver. He said that they were having enough problems just delivering enough 95 ron unleaded and diesal. Apparently when they deliver Optimax the tankers only have optimax on board and they can't justify these delivereis at the moment.

Also, the government have allowed the tanker drivers a 7 day work permit! Just to get the jungle juice to the petrol stations!

All the best in everyones search for zoom juice

Dave!

Just got the below info from Shell customer service via email.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for your recent e-mail regarding supplies of Optimax.
The production of Optimax was not affected by the recent incident at Hemel Hempstead, as it is solely produced at Shell's Stanlow Refinery.

However, the tankers used for Optimax deliveries were diverted to ensure sites in the surrounding area supplied by the Buncefield oil depot had stocks of the main grade fuels, premium unleaded and diesel. Understandably this has had some affect on Optimax supplies in the short term.

As the distribution issues have been stabilised, Optimax distribution is being brought back on line. All sites should have full Optimax stocks within the next five days.

Ah the above email suits me fine as the shell garage in Cribbs Causeway had every Optimax pump open. The car has a full tank and that lasts me a week anyway

Filled up with Optimax last night in York....however passed the Total garage which was closed as it had no fuel at all!

HH was the Total storage depot however I am surprised that it has impacted as far north as York.

During the silly priced fuel issue our local shell ran out (1 pump for nearly the whole of Pembrokeshire!) I asked when more would be in and I think the reply was in english but was so dismissal and uncaring it could have been esperanto!

I filled up with Teso SUL and put in a bottle of millers booster. TO my mind that made 99 RON but didn't feel any different and the knock of link was quiet.
