Default Towing

HI, just wondering have many of ye towbars fitted to your imprezas? I'm thinking of fitting one to pull a small car trailer to collect tyres etc. for my truck. Would it do any harm to the car ( MY98 STI Wagon)?
Also what's available and what price range?
Thanks in Advance
Cheers
John

Hi John,
Shouldn't think you will do any harm towing a small trailer. You can buy a genuine bar from your dealer or one from somebody like Witter. Both have good reviews on here.

They don't list accessories for the 98 anymore on the main Subaru web site so you will have to talk to your dealer for availability.

I have the Subaru detachable neck one fitted to my 03.

Even that sounds cheap but then last time i enquired about a tow bar was for my audi and i was asking audi for a quote. Lets just say i wouldnt have got much change from £1000 if i hadnt ran out the showroom laughing.

40 quid delivered can't be bad, say less than 100 for fitting and you have yaself a bargain.

Thanks for all the replies, I think I'll go with the detachable one- sounds like a nice neat job, great idea. those prices sound cheap but over here in the emerld isle they tend to throw a saddle on you for anything in the main dealers ;-)
Cheers
