Yep..sounds about right.

The scratches on mine are very thick. Probably a thumb width.

More noticable on the fronts, than the back though, though thats just down to use.

I've seen it mentioned before.
Window runners I think, do a search.
I think you have to replace some guides.

There will be some crap in the rubbers/guides see if you can clean them out, you can polish minor scratches out with any sort of cutting paste/T-Cut whatever, do a search there was a thread a while ago with 1001 ways to remove scratches in glass ..

as above, common problem on classics, i have some fat scratches on 3 of my windows, sand or dirt get into the rollers..

i seriously doubt they can be polished away on mine as they are quite deep, doesnt bother me at all when i look in the windows from the inside i can see a big white grin from my face anyway

Not a very practical answer but I don't lower the windows if I can help it, when they are dirty. Make sure the seals are clean when you wash the car.

Yup, its a screw thats fallen out. Pop off the door cover and you'll see what I mean, straighten it up put the screws back in and its fine... Same happened to me, do it before it completely wreaks the window

So that's another little "characteristic" of our Scoobs then?
My Classic's driver's window is a bit scratched but not too bad.
What's a few scratches eh, could be that they were prone to something more serious like, oh, MAF problems.
