Why is SUL more expensive than LRP?

We've had quite a few posts on here over the past few weeks about fuel. istr the following points:
- LRP = SUL until additive is added
- SUL and regular UL are taxed at the same level by HMG as their benzine content is now the same (fixed at 1%?)
- SUL is more expensive than reg UL (a volume thing)

So LRP should be more expensive than SUL 'cos of the additives. All other things are equal. Have I missed something? Are we being, dare I say, ripped off?

Cheers, Peter.

PS I recently changed to Prodrive geometry settings - no-one's mentioned on here that this seriously damages your fuel consumption!!

Wink

Perhaps the LRP additive, volume for volume, is cheaper than the petrol. Therefore in the same volume you get slightly less petrol with a bit of 'filler' thrown in!

Do the Octane booster work much when used with Super unleaded. One of the people I work with put 500ml of Silkolene octane booster in with 25 litres of petrol.Does it make much difference.
