Default I just clocked 149mph against mates Galarado doing 178mph

ASW thread!

What a bloody good day out.

Went to bruntingthrope for 9am this morning as max power were putting on an event (comes out december) about power cars, so 6 of us went down representing different groups. Jap, hot hatch, super cars etc..

They had the full sat tracking to track 0-60, 1/4 miles, top speeds and that and then did a full day of photos of having fun and racing each other.
You got to love a 2 mile long run way as wide as you like for testing!

We got there and bloody hell, ive never in my life done these speeds and it was so so so so so so so so so so so much fun.

I ran out of run way as i was clocking around 149mph, against the Galarado upto 120mph was pretty close, but after 120mph it flew like **** as its huge power just destroyed me and kept going up to 178mph.

Their was a 600bhp cossie engined 03 Fiesta which was a monster, i mean pure monster, 1/4 miles were like 10.4 and the noise it made was insaine.

Some great cars there and 350 awesome photos coming tomorrow! I took some pretty good moving shots and race shots and that. Also got alot of video footage. I cant get home to upload them tonight, but i will get the video footage on as well cause their was some mental antics going on.

Feels good to get it out the blood, drove so slowly all the way home. lol. Sadly my 1/4 mile and 0-60 were pants as my clutch was already ****ed and its now completely broken, luckily its going in wednesday for full AP racing padel clutch with lightened fly wheel. BUT HELL YEA

Anyone never been to Bruntingthrope, when you get the chance, take it. AWESOME!

Ive never opened her up like i did today, it was amazing to see what she could really do. I was out with Dan Sherwood (max editor) as he was filming in the passenger seat, i was flooring it at 130mph round one of the corners, little tighter than we thought and my god it got out of shape all over the place. lol. But at bruningthorpe it just dont matter, you got so much space to calm down, correct it and carry on. What a grat place to learn

Tell you what though, Corsa their did a spot on tim. I think the fastest car was the Fiesta, but it wasnt a car, it was a beast.

I cant wait for the feature actually cause "Fly" the photographer is the dogs bollocks and some of the moving and racing shots looked fantastic.

Their were some super bikes testing there, a 2.3i v6 motor bike **** sake, you gotta see that open up!!! 200mph+ on the straight

Well chuffed!

My times were down to:

STI8 - tsl 333bhp pack.
Top Speed: 149mph
0-60: 5.4
1/4 mile: 13.4

So i was 0.7 short of my best 0-60 time and 0.6 short on my best 1/4 mile time.
But you really could feel and smell it not doing very well by the end. But ah well, garaged till TSL sort it wednesday.

Tell you what though my impreza's bottom end and mid range speed is awesome, but that top end was so so slow compared to the compeition. You could really see the lambo top end completely over throw me.

However, thats not what matters, it was AMAZING FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talking to the Max Power lot actually and it seems they are trying to open the magazine to new markets and will be featuring many more top end super cars and sport cars. Should be a nice move that on their part.

She only half a year old so i aint touching the body work or interior. I didnt take a thing out the car, no stripping, completely standard and those runs were with 2 people in the car, cause the guy doing the tracking with the equipment sat in with ya.

So yea supose it was alright

Against those cars? Not bad i dont think.

We will see when times are released, thing is though all the hatch backs are stripped out with no weight. They all had huge engines slammed in them with turbos and throttle bodies strapped to em! So huge power with no weight = FAST AS FARK.

I only did some straight line racing with the lambo all day, once i raced green corsa which wasnt to fast. But some of the others were running 12.4 quarters etc.

lol. Well the Lambo got the slowest quarter mile times their as he refunsed to hold the clutch and boot it and damage the clutch, so they were all pulled off from 0RPM. So maybe it will make the readers think his Lambo is slow. lol...

I think he was running around 13.6's from memory. But yea you could tell from its mid and top end power that if he wanted off the line he could have pulled an awesome time.

Nah, by the time its published it will have had an extra 200bhp added and all the times will ahve been shaved (corrected) by about 2 seconds.
