No, Cause your just filling the tank... so your not altering the fuel flow, As far as im aware anyway! My car is usualy running on the turbo timer still when Im putting mine in. I think its the fire risk of a running engine that is of more concern!

what about the vacum noise you get when you open the cap - there must be some sort of pressure that is lost

Why?, Because of the cost of fuel going up.

Looking at filling the tank and doing a runner !!!

Don't forget to talk on your mobile, while smoking a *** and filling your still running car. But what ever you do, don't spit.

You could also tap-dance with your segs and see how many sparks you can kick up.

bonfire night not too far away either, you could twirl a sparkler, with a *** in your mouth whilst tapping 'it's a long way to Tipperary..' being played as the ring tone on your mobile...!

the chances of it causing a fire are remote to say the least! although one a decade
is too many for them i suppose.

I can't believe that any part of the car is significantly hotter when it's idling than when it's JUST been turned off?

Maybe if your HT lead was hanging off down to the floor and you managed to spill a couple of litres you'd be in with a fighting chance...

You could tap dance in your seg laden shoes whilst smoking a *** and rubbing a balloon over your nylon shell suit and shouting "Calm down our Terry" when touching the back of his ear to discharge the leccy build up !!

Don't do it. It is actually quite dangerous.
And let's face it, unnecessary.
Unless you're in F1.

Seems to work in F1......

Saw an old boy filling his Bentley up ---- puffing away merrily on his pipe

Very old joke. Guy filling huge yank motor up with engine running. Chap runs out of garage saying "do you mind turning her off sir, she's gaining on us"

Nothing to do with you showcasing your 'zippo dexterity skills' to the rest of the customers on the forecourt then???
