Default Thankyou Jobsworth

As above I would just like to say a big thankyou to a certain jobsworth traffic cop in Glasgow!!

A few weeks ago and in a bit of a hurry I went past a marked car at 100kph + (motorway I may add b4 anyone jumps on my back).

No chase given so was sure I had been clocked and have been waiting for the old Notice of Intent to Prosecute letter....2 wks gone and past and not a thing.

Thanks mate for being too busy eating ure donut or drinking ure coffee .....but am sure you pulled some poor git for doing 75mph or faulty brake light a half hour later.

They can prosecute within 6 months i think, i wouldnt count your chickens just yet, and i think you mean 100kph rather than 100mph as that would mean you admitting to an offence

You would have been better off keeping this one to yourself mate.

If you do the ton on a motorway in Glasgow and slag off the Traffic cops things just seem to happen.

No - 14 days is the statutory limit for court notice - as long as the NIP is lodged with the courts thereafter they have to bring about the prosecution within 6 months - so in theory you could get a leasurely letter within this time (although from what you say it seems unlikely).

Almost right, in laymans terms if you are not stopped at the time and given a verbal NIP (notice of intent to prosecute) the registered keeper must receive a written NIP detailing the offence, time, place within 14 days. The NIP MUST be sent minimum 1st class, although proof of postage is proof of delivery.

Once the NIP has been served, there is a 6 month limit to LAY PAPERS with the court. In practice prosecution can be outside that limit.

Anyone got the link to the story about the person being done by the police after admitting an offence on a public forum a few months back?

I can't for the life of me understand why this policeman is being described as a "jobsworth". Did he refuse to be flexible about a rule for fear of losing his employment? Not in this anecdote.

first time ive heard of a copper being a jobsworth for not knocking someone off for speeding...and quite honestly, if you overtake a marked car (motorway or not) at 100 mph, you deserve everything you get...!!!

blimey-perhaps theyve raised the threshold now before they stop you! ive past many marked police cars on the motorways before , doing 80-85 mph whilst everyone else is sat behind them sh1tting themselves doing 69.999mph. never been stopped for it either. dont think ill try passing at a ton just yet ,though!

Some people are never happy, you get away with it and criticise the police, you get prosecuted and do the same!
Just be thankful you got away with it, and next time use some sense and don't post it on a forum!

Cool

Kev,

Any "jobsworth" cop would have nailed your sorry *** - then given you an almost instant MOT on the hard shoulder. Checked your license, tax, MOT cert and insurance details then i'd have checked your feckin sight!!!! Do you know DVLA take away your license when you have a mental disability?

Let me get this right - you saw the MARKED car and choose to crack on by at the ton???

Man you are just to stupid to own a car!!! Its dip****s like you that get responsible impreza owners like us branded with the chavs'r'us label.

Get your coat - you're leaving.....

TT
