That article was from 2004 and was forecasting the 2005 car, which can now be seen on various other threads, and indeed at certain UK importers forecourts....

If there was any element of truth to any of this rumour, a car arriving in 2007 would be a 2008MY, therefore 2 years away at least. This story about a hatchback is possibly because Mitsubishi are looking at the next version of the Lancer being a hatch bodyshape. Somebodies assuming that Subaru will follow........
