Just know all the men will be queueing up to answer this one ....
but... the username says it all (thought I'd get that in b4 anyone else does) Girl. New on here, been lurking and the odd post but, here goes...
What is a P1 and the other scooby jargon that people use on here.
I know what PPP is, but thats about it
I drive an 04 WRX in blue, scoop, spoiler, blob eyed (i think isnt it?) not an sti, Im not one of these that uses the rear view mirror to apply makeup and I am aware that there is a part at the front that you cant put the shopping in... on that point it doesnt go to tescos, do the shopping on the internet, got chased round the car park once by a guy in his 50's, he was on foot (long story) pushing trolleys into me, police were called, he was having a bad day!!! was jealous of the blonde in the fast car...and yes that WAS his excuse!! just drive it and love it, dont care what it does where and when, makes me chuckle and my partner.
Only gripe we do have... is the music system!! It's crap, had a bose system in the last car, any suggestions??
Oh, and the women in ford fiestas that sit in my boot in the 30's. Im not going to go flying thru them, I know its the only place they can keep up....but please...leave my **** alone!!!
Anyway, sure all the men are now queueing up to sort a damsel in distress (or scooby) out
there you go, not another know it all penelope pitstop!!!
thanks

The P1 is a Prodrive car (hence the P) and its based on the Type R chassis, with 1000 being built (originally 500 but due to demand they made some more )
Hope that helps someone will post their website (p1 owners club) or you can have a look here at www.sidc.co.uk under faq's

Should also say sorry cant help you on the ICE, as my car didnt come with any to start with (it was an option i think) so have something totally different in there, you could look up the ICE section to see if anyone has replaced the standard unit, but to me, its more about driving the car than listening to music

Girl-in-a-scoob,
Yes the stereo system in Scooby's leave a lot to be desired. In each of my cars (have had 2 so far) I have had to junk the entire system and start again. My suggestion would be to go and see your friendly local car hi-fi specialist (or preferably go to someone who has been recommended to you) and do the following:
- Replace the head unit with something else like Alpine, Denon, etc.. You should be aware that the head unit in your car is what's known as a double din size unit. However a single din unit (ie one that is half the height of your current unit) can be intsalled, using an off the shelf adaptor (that's how mine has been done).
- Replace all the door speakers with something more meaty.
- if you want, install a base box in the boot for added depth.
Don't skimp on the costs of the amps and buy cheap. You will regret it. I listen to quite a lot of classical music where depth and clarity are pre-requesites (yes I know that car acoustics are crap but one has to try) and I have a 2-amp system driving my 7 speaker system (ie 6 units plus a double headed base unit), super thick cabling, power leads separated from audio leads by the width of the car, etc.
As for the rest of your questions re PPP, P1, and all that jargony mallarky I suggest you hop over to the SIDC site and get reading. Also look out for back issues of Japanese Performance Magazine; they did a large article on the myriad variations of the Scoob a couple of years back. I tell you now, there's loads of variations.
If you want to know more or have specific questions and don't want to look a prat on this BBS then please PM me. Happy to help where I can.
Enjoy your car.
Best wishes.

being new to the Scooby scene myself i felt a little bewildered with all the strange model types too, but i have come to realise the only one that matters is the one you drive
As for ICE it really depends on what you are after, there is alot out there that will do the job, ie play cd's, my personal preference is anything Alpine, although my current Scoob came with a Kenwood mini disc player, which has grown on me too.
So decide what your ICE budget is, and go from there.

I have problems with women as I say and middle aged men in what I would call 'safe' saloons (mondeos, volvos and stuff)
The boy racers usually are good and let me out, although there is always the exception to the rule and you get some d**k***d in a 1.nothing flying up behind you on the dual carriageway flashing his headlights at you..... please... dont make me laugh... I cant drive straight if my eyes are watering thru laughing!!

Hi anyway
My best mate keeps trying to get me to debadge the 2000 so people wont know what she is but I figure I have to leave the prodrive and K&N stickers on there so the guys who try to sit on the bumper have something to read .
Did have one guy in town tell me "I shouldn't have a Subaru they're not a girl's car" unfortunately I had nothing to throw at him...

girl-in-a-scoob, if they want a photo of you with a loaf of bread on your head, dont at any cost fall for it. And just watch out for the sharks. But other than that, great choice in car and have fun!

I'm afraid people trying it on is all part of the ownership experience; I've had everything try and race me off the lights from kev'd up Corsas to Diesel people carriers (fun watching the debris on the back shelf go flying as they try and launch the thing off at the mere hint of amber) :-) Just don't rise to it- let em get on with it.
There is a reason that Scoobies have crap ICE....
It is redundant: who wants to listen to music when you've got a flat four warbling away!?!?!
