What would be more give a more accurate boost reading

Probably neither in reality For setting up purposes you are best using a professional gauge.

Could be running too much or too little Without an accurate gauge to set it up and to calibrate yours it's hard to know. When I checked the boost levels on my old Lancia I borrowed a professional gauge to make sure and to check the accuracy of mine. Mine at the time wasn't too far out.
