Default fitting thule roof bars to a new age

Need a little help here.

Fitting Thule aero bars to a My03 wrx, the guide isnt very descriptive. It seems more general to all cars rather than a diagram matching the car.

on the rear it appears they want you to hook the foot pack round the black trim which covers the window rubber. Im concened the first time i brake the whole lot is coming off including part of the car.

is this the right place anyone had any problems.

I have the same set of bars for my audi and they are a doodle to fit.

Your following the fitting kit instructions and not the instructions from the footpack?

yes im following the guide with the foot pack.

but it isnt accurate at all, from what i can gather it wants me to fix the hooked bottom of the foot plate around the plastic trim that holds the door rubber in place.

it may be perfectly ok and im just being paranoid.

there is a universal too,l roof rack on this new age, this is the sam fitting on the rear as the aero bars but the front fits higer up in the rubber trim above the door.

Just put some on MY05 WRX - Yes they do hook under the black trim round the doors - seems to fit pretty solidly though. Will be putting a roofbox on next week for holidays..

The only thing I have found is they seem to sit much higher up on the roof of the car at the back - I think I have them on right, would be interested to hear if yours do the same..

Can take a pic and post it later if you want..lemme know..

As long as you follow the instructions to the letter youll be fine, Thule racks are made to the highest standards ive had few problems with them in all the years ive been selling and fitting them.

Yeah I am following the instructions, i was questioning them fitting to the plastic trim. was just concerend the roof box was gonna come flying off the first time I brake.

Bartop, yes the back does look higher, I though this was down to aerodynamic design . There was a wrx with a roof rack parked up outside a dealer, and it was fited the same. The front fitting on yours does it also fit round the plastic trim ?. or in the gutter higher up .

Ive decided to take the audi now anyway, saves any hassle with the gendarms. laser jammer, decat ect
