A good looking Scooby??
The following has been on my mind for days now, and I would like to share my thoughts with you
I enjoy hearing the sound of that flat four at full tilt
The road holding is extreme
The mid to top end speed is almost as quick as my coupe (Fiat 20VT)
but sadly its just not a good looking car, in fact my own dear mother would discribe it as with many of my girl friends, plain,
So why on earth do Subaru not design a beautiful looking car based around the all the excellent points of the current car?

Take for example the big SLK's, the mazza, even the Barea, all very good looking, and would the scooby not benefit from a bit of designer pencilling?

I have to agree though people don't look because they think it is a good looking car. Most Scoobys have very loud exhausts and people look to see what this loud flat 4 rumble is coming from.
I wouldn't say the cars are ugly, but there is a lot of cosmetic changes you can make to enhance the looks

i've owned much "prettier" cars than my current 05 wrx, but the scoob is still my favourite by miles...stealthy and hugely quick...the sound from inside the car always makes me smile - it's not the last word in "style", but those in the know always look at it and appreciate...

think thats a lot of the appeal with imprezas-there not "pretty boy" cars. another favourite of mine is the first nissan skyline-so ugly , its a beauty! same with the bmw m coupe. would rather have any of these over "pretty" cars like fiat coupe, alfa gtv, celicas etc

Even with my car parked up with no noise, it gets plenty of looks mate. Granted its a bit different from standard now, but not a lot.
People in general always have a second glance, rumbe or no.
Dont dis da scoob

Lets face it most standard Impreza's are ugly as sin, especially early classics Jacked up in the air, small wheels, small brakes, dated, nasty interior etc etc
BUT..
That's not what they are about.
Exceptions being 22b's and sti 3 door cars which IMO are nice looking standard.

Yup its not meant to be a slender sports car, its meant to be a mean rally car.
Fiat coupe almost got theirs right to without those strange lines on the side and the front lights with plastic that sticks out from the car, i never understood either of those features. I hear quite a nice drive though.

Having owned a "pretty" car - Alfa GTV 3.0 and in Impreza, I have to say I'm still bowled over by the aggressive look of the Impreza, gets my vote everytime, oh and it starts everytime and doesn't destroy gearboxes...or air flow meters...and the window shuts....and the suspension arms don't fail....etc

Eye of the beholder isn´t it. I think my rb5´s a bit plain then again I´ve had it for 3 years.
One of the nicest scoobs I´ve seen was a black bugeye STI with gold 18 inch wheels and subtle mudflaps. I think bugeyes are ugly as sin except that one.

Scooby’s have all got “something”, that thing you can’t quite put your finger on. I own an ’05 STi which I actually think is far less pretty than many classics, but it still has that “something”. Maybe it’s four wheel drive, maybe it’s all in the head, but you won’t see me driving an Italian car however beautiful it is
