Just walked past a Texaco garage and there were zillions of idiots bunging 4 star or LRP in instead or unleaded! Looks like a good time to go into the catalyst replacement business!!!
Someone here at work was told that Diesel was ok but just for short trips!!!! hmmm, sound advice!

Went to the petrol station with by brother to fill up his Citroen AX GT (He can use LRP) and I watched some guy fill his V reg volvo estate with LRP by pushing in the metal flap in the filler with a pen and squirting the LRP inside!! I was going to say something to him about what he was doing but he looked so angry that I left him to it. Probably a company car so he didn't care but what are the short term affects of running it on LRP?? Will it just destroy the cat and Lamda sensor?? I can't believe that people are SO stupid that they would put Diesel in instead.

Will it affect my cat? I say my cat, but it's really next door neighbours, but she really likes the warmth of the impreza...
I suppose I could use the oil to grease the car thus causing the cat to be damaged when she slips off the car.
So, only use unleaded in an impreza otherwise you'll damage the cat.
God only knows how I work some contrived thing into this about poisoning someone called lambda with lead due to a bad batch of olive oil. I'll leave it as an exercise to the interested reader.
