LRP is either Potassium or Sodium based. When they introduced LRP in Sweden about 10 years ago it caused immense damage to many turbos as exhaust gas streams adhered to turbine blades. Damage wasn't immediate but some quoted problems within 6000 miles. Problem in UK is there is no British Standard for LRP (despite MoT promise to get one sorted) so you are in the hands of the fuel companies and what they decide to put in the LRP recipe. DL.

LRP petrol is SUL with additives (97 octane). As far as I am aware the use of LRP will contaimiate the Cat (which will probably recover OK) and the HEGO sensor (which won't recover).

LRP is supposed to be 97 octane like the old leaded. However I suspect it varies a bit and there is no British standard for it. It can clog up fuel systems. Must not be used for cars with exhaust catalysts although you shouldn't be able to fit the pump nozzle into a new "unleaded" narrow gauge filler pipe. DL.

I don't think that cats do recover. With old leaded petrol, the lead bonded to the metals in the cat, permanently altering its chemical structure. Once this happened, the cat was destroyed and no longer did anything other than impede the flow of exhaust gases. My guess is that LRP does similarly nasty things to cats.

There were some posts a while back which said that LRP would bugger the Lambda sensor causing all kinds of associated problems with mixture etc.

Thanks Stu, I'll give up on that idea.

Oh well, new down pipe, new clutch, new brakes and an empty tank after the trip to Scoobysport tomorrow.

Run your R6 on LRP, it great. My 'Blade runs slightly cooler on LRP, and seems perkier at the top end. Don't put it in the Scoob though, until after your visit to ScoobySport!

I remenber seeing an article on Watchdaog when LRP was released. They showed a turbo unit from a Saab which was pitted to hell after only 2 weeks running on LRP. Might not be such a good idea!!
