Default scary moment las nite

As the title says........

Was doin a bit of "spirited driving" las nite and stop at some traffic lights... So as i ragged it off, i went for 2nd and just missed the gear (happens from time to time) so i calms down goes for 2nd slowly but NO! no gear!! so i slots it in 3rd.. and drives fine, and go to select 2nd again but the stick wont even move over that side of the box!! i was starting to **** myself at this point cause im skint and didnt wanna folk out for a new box. so i went thru the rest of the gear 4th, 5th bak to 3rd, then it slots into 2nd fine!

I duno what the problem was, but it seems to have righted itself and has been fine since!! but it was just 1 of them moments were you think "why oh why did i sell my car which had a warranty to get a scoob"

That thought has now gone!

Anybody else had this happen or similar?

I had that a year or so ago, and once about 2 years ago, been fine since (I'm tempting fate aren't I?) - it may not be anything major but some people have been going on about a washer between 2nd and 3rd being a problem? In my case it was always on a hot day driving hard, 02 bug eye.

Fingers crossed for you - and me!

Driving my 02 (JDM Wagon) Bugeye hard, or on a long journey, it's really hard to get it out of 3rd!!

Just that 1 gear everything else is fine - have to really yank it hard.

Changing gearbox oil made no difference. But it's got no worse in 13K so I'm just going to live with it.

Had the exact same problem, but mine was on grass. ragging in first, like you missed second. Came to a stand, then no first/second gear like you say wouldnt even slide over that side.

@rse going now because

1. should not have been on the grass and now cant move
2. Thinking how much this little ones gonna cost
3. just because

then after much yanking pushing managed to get 1st first gear, but changing from 1st gear to second and back it felt like it was in thick thick syrup. Drove home and had a sleepless night.

Got in the car and decided to go and (after a good jet wash) go to Subaru and find out whats happened. But on the way it started righting itself, as you mentioned, gradually got better and better, after a day or two it was perfect again. That was nearly a year ago.

So if it feels ok, dont try and fix what aint broke.

By the way 02 WRX
