Huddersfield Impreza stolen at Gunpoint.
On local news (Yorkshire) and Ceefax just now. A 60 year old man was forced out of his car at gunpoint after taking a bogus buyer out for a test drive.
Anyone on here? I hope not.

The owner is fine. He lived in town but they didn't do the deed until they driven into the sticks towards Manchester. They arrived in a knackered van and left it at his house for the duration of the test drive (needless to say, they didn't come back for it).
/edit it was a classic but unsure as to the exact type

Sorry to say but this is one of the reasons my impreza had to go. This is the 2nd/3rd gun point theft I have known in Huddersfield.
I hope the outcome is the best it possibly can be

No car is worth putting up with this for ....... but, it is very rare!!
If you feel vulnerable owning one, then its not worth it.
Myself, I never even think of it - I just apply common sense to where I park it, who is around me and where I drive.
I must say, a Wagon gives you all the thrills of a saloon but is less of a theft target I would say?

Worrying nonetheless, but insurance covers the metal, just let 'em take it and not put you or your family at risk.

dont anybody kid themselves that it only happens to imprezas,if its stealable the scum will have it Ufortunatly we have heard about this incident on the news but I suspect it wouldnt have the same impact if it was say a focus or a vectra and therfore it is wise to be very careful what ever your driving and be extremely careful when trying to sell your car what ever make it is.Does anybody recall the recent incident with the car salesman who had the demo car pinched? powerman

I myself am from Bradford and have people trying to sell me stolen bits but as they say, pay a little more and youll get the real thing legit.
Like when i was seeking a Sti version 4/5 engine for a project. I had people literally come to my doorstep to sell me engines lol.
In the end i could find what i wanted so give up.
I hope the old man is ok and would like to add to Powerman that gunpoint car thefts happen to all type of cars, all over england so dont lose heart. Just make sure your more aware and when selling make sure you have a couple of friends with you. Thief will walk away

Common sense and an iron bar used here... One behind the drivers seat and one next to the bed
Would never sell a scoob privately too many testy pilots for my liking... Wouldnt wish the huddersfield experience on anyone but Ive read about it happening to mini and focus drivers too....

Bradford Theft
A friends heavily modded scooby was nicked from his garage 3 Days ago, the scums even took his old mans civic which was blocking the driveway!!
Luckily someone saw the Car being on a back of a Recovery Truck in the Holmwood estate in Bradford that night & yesterday the word got round to the owner who reported the suspected location.
The car was found with NO damage, even the locks were untouched, & the fuel still unused!!. It was later discovered the **** holes towed the car onto a recovery truck & drove off.....
It even had a CAT1 Alarm!!,
This theif had a Garage where he stripped the stolen vehicles & transfered parts onto other scoobies, good news was the cops siezed the place & took the suckers down.
Whats the world coming to!, oh the civic was found burnt on a side street!
