Dirty that gets on the felt pads that guide the window as it moves. Or the felt pads have dropped/moved exposing the metal brackets.
I believe it's covered under warrenty, if not get it sorted anyway, as it will get worse and worse, New pads should sort the problem out.

Happened on all 4 windows on my RB5.
Previous owner didn't get it done under warranty - when I asked it was too late
The STI 4 I just got has the same only not nearly as bad.
Only way to fix is new glass and pads/runners I think.

LOL
Its the guides inside the doors Pete, they get worn - I'm guessing you've got one, maybe two vertical scratched areas on each window about 1/3 and 2/3 the way along?

...it's a common problem i believe especially on classics. I have them on my rear windows...they only showed up when i got the rear windows tinted....but i can live with it.

The scratches are actually only in the top third section of the window and an area of about 6cm x 3cm wide - I'll take a piccie if I can.
It almost looks like someone has tried to break into the car by using some lever that has scratched the window? But its so easy to break in a scooby not having a frame, so why mess about with a bar?

I had my drivers window replaced once under warranty as a result of scratches but weeks after the new one was scratched
Now i just live with it. I have to lower the window to get out the car when i put it into the garage whether the window is dirty or not (lets face it car window are not always clean)
