Default newbie saying hi and help

right fellas hello there, i'm a defector from the great sxoc. i've still got my S14 200sx (about 250-260bhp), but recently been told by the wife that theres another new mouth to feed in 8-9 months.
right , to the nitty gritty.i've done some searches but haven't found the definitive answer.
1. do early wrxs need octane booster or are you ok with optimax on its own ?
2.can you get a decent booster from halfords and lastly
3.scoobyecu. what the hell is it, where can i get it from, how much and will it solve the booster problem ?
i should be getting a WRX in the next 2 weeks so any help would be greatly appreciated. i thank you

Hello there and welcome to the Scoobynet forums.

I used to run my WRX on 98 (SUL) plus an octane booster. If I ran out of octane booster then I merely used 98. As long as I didn't put 95 I didn't panic too much.

Are you going for a saloon or wagon?

You'll find many imported WRX/STi's have been remapped to run on UK 98RON without the need for booster. Ask the seller if this is so, and get him to confirm it preferably with the receipt for the work, or at least tell you who did it so you can confirm with them.

I had an SX also, and now have an early WRX (MY95).

I was using Optimax & booster, but now only use Optimax after fitting a knocklink and realising I didn't need the booster for my car.
