Airbag light
If the airbag light is on, is it an mot failure? I can't find much info about it.
Mods, feel free to move this as I wasn't sure where to post it.

No it is not an MOT failure . Mine has been on for the last 2 years and it hasn't failed an MOT yet. Its on a Vectra and the fault is in one of the seat belt tensioner.

Airbag light staying on is a sign that the airbag circuit had been disabled due to a failure in the system...
usually caused by moving one of the front seats, and moving the connection that hasnt been moved for years...
disconnect the battery and try unplugging and replugging the connectors under the seats,, they may be a bit crudded up..
do not!!!!!!!!!!!! use any form of circuit tester to check for continuity..
you may need to take it back to a dealer to have the light reset even if you rectify the fault..

What does this connector do? Is it for a weight switch to say there's someone on the seat?
The other suggetsion I was given, is the connection onto the steering wheel.
I think I'll put it in for the mot tomorrow then go see the dealers. Funny old thing it's one of the thousands of things not covered under the warranty.
