Or you could use this program to keep up to date with the latest pocketgps database

works a treat for me with tom tom v3, and ppc 2003

Yes it will work with Tom Tom v2 or 3 and if you download Checkpoint 3.2 (Freeware) you have have audio warnings, the difference with the selection ive placed on here (cw42) is that its a collection of loads of differenc sources and ive taken the trouble to de-duplicate PIO's, i also have a load of (WAV) files for audio prompts if people would like?

I also have a great utility (Freeware again) that enables you to enter destinations into tom tom by entering the full post code, PM me if anybody wants it.

Ok after a couple of PM's here's the Postcode database lookup, a couple of things to note, install Checkpoint as this installs the Tom Tom SDK runtime and the post code program uses/needs it, there are 2 files in the program and they need to exists together my advice is to create a folder in your Storage Card and copy both files into the new folder. please note i did not create this program but is is freeware.

Fergie
I used the shell list from gpsworld, but it's not very up to date.
I emailed shell and they sent me an address list for all the shell stations, but it didn't have lat & long, so I still couldn't use it and didn't want to enter all the postcodes in to the post code locator.
Thanks for your work - I'll give it a try.

sorry fergie, I didn't mean to belittle your excellent work. I know what you mean about the other database being out of date
I'll give it a go, once I've got some time to upload it, I'm due for a update anyway,
cheers,
chris.

Put it in last night, and had a quick look at the map in tom tom, to see the speed camera warning sites. Much cooler having the limit displayed than just a "speed camera" sign.
One problem though, what do you do about updating it? The pocket gps database is regulaly updated, how will you do yours?
If there are no updates, the database will be out of date within a few months, and could potentially cause you to speed past a camera because its not on your base!
I've spotted one camera near me already, on Dowson Road, near Hyde, that has not long been up, that isn't on your base, but has just become avialable on the other base.
Although to be fair, you do list another camera thats not on theirs, that went up after the dowson road camera!
Other that that gripe, it looks well smart. Love the "shell" sound file too, "shell station approaching, do you need optimax for you subaru impreza?" LOL

Nice one fergie, looks like your putting a lot of work into this
any chance you could set up a mailing list, rather than have to dig the thread out on scoobynet everytime you post an update?
Is there any way to change the sound files on tom tom voice navigation? I've investigated this before, but only found rather lame usa and english voices. How about an angry scotsman, telling you to "f ing turn round, you've missed the turn"
Keep up the excellent work, full test next monday when I'm off to n.wales for a big drive out

Ill host things like alternate navigation sound files , PIO warning sounds and alternate PIO icons. Like all things time is the issue here but will keep you posted, in the mean time i will post an update in the next couple of weeks for the PIO's ive made available

To add audio warnings you will need a piece of supporting software, PIO Warner (You have to pay for this 1) or CheckPoint (Freeware) this is the one i use, once installed you can set audio warnings associated to the PIO's youve uploaded into you Map folder.

ps , ive just updated my PIO's with several more categorys and sound files
downoad below

Ladies and gentlefolk of the Scooby.Net
Here's another update of the overlays
Ive done even more de-duplications
An example being that if a Speed Camera
Exisited in say the 30_Speedcams and
Also exisited in the General Speed cams
Then the duplicate was remove from the General.
Link Below.

blimey fergie, I've not even tested the last download yet!
for gods sake man, take a break

as a matter of interest, how do you configure your 3 warnings in the menu, I have your message for the first, the old "speed cam in 10 seconds" in the second, then nothing for the third.

chris.
