opps, nearly forgot, how do I add speed cameras that aren't in your database yet?
there's one on DOWSON ROAD in HYDE that still hasn't shown up on yours yet.

fergie_uk : Good work M8

Must try it out for real tomorrow, gona try and run a few speed cameras.

It works in demo mode, Just one thing you could have put in a WAV that detects if you have been caught and says I TOLD YOU SO!

Just a quickie the link below allows users to add there email address to my mailing and for the user cw42 ive added a section to add a POI into my database. You will need to know the longitude / latitude of the pio which if your using CheckPoint then you have the facility to record POI's.

turbo dad, your first port of call is here.
Have a good read of that site, and then you can start by using the program "checkpoint", which you then download fergies database into. Once you've done that, run checkpoint on your pda, configure the various warnings and voice prompts, then go out for a drive and see if it works!

fergie, cheers for that info, I'll give it a try next time I'm passing the site.
chris.

ps, anyone else spotted someone sitting under a fixed camera site while they play with their pda?

Question Palm T3 compatibility?

(Sorry to go a little off topic)
Is there anything compatible with the Palm T3?

I have TomTom for the Palm, but CheckPoint only seems to be compatible with Pocket PCs, as does their (Pocket GPS UK) speed camera database

Or am I doing something v wrong

I believe you can still add the POI's into the palm version of tom tom but without relevent software you not going to get the audio wrnings, POI Warner is an alternative to the freeware version of CheckPoint check out www.navigating.de to see if they do a Palm Version.

Connect you Tom Tom Go module to your PC via the USB connection and as if by magic you should have a removable storage device within your PC Drives, open the storage device and the UK map folder should be visiblem now copy the OV2 & BMP files to the map folder and your done, im now assuming your need to run Tom Tom go and configure the new uploaded POI's to display

Can`t use checkpoint on mine as it`s not compatable with either pocket pc 2003 se or doesn`t like 640 *480 screen resolution. Hopefully an update will come out soon for the new High Res PDA`s.

After a bit more investigating I came across this article on the Pocket GPS site

http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/tomtom-palm-poi.php

Will give it a go this evening - tho I'm guessing I may need to get a bigger SD card for this

Thanks C
