Default Would you swap????

Been offered a straight swop by a main dealer, don't know what to do though. HELP!

I have an X oct'00 wagon with 29k, full leather, a/c, only had it 2 months (no warrenty though), but I always wanted a 4dr, now a main subaru dealer has offered me a W mar'00 Turbo 4dr, same colour (mica blue) Prodrive with 39k, 12 months warrenty and a tracker, no a/c.

I'm VERY tempted even though its an older car with more miles, but the warrenty is nice as is the prodrive.

Would you?

I dont think I would personally. I think yours, newer (i know only slighty but hey) with the lower miles on, leather and a/c will be more appealing when you come to sell on. You could always do the mods to yours... whereas you wont be able to take the extra 10,000 miles off the clock of the one the dealer wants to swap.

As for the warrenty, well, I have a JDM car... so thats what I think about that!

J (all IMHO )

I`d stick with what you,ve got if your happy with it, drivewise etc, if its been a joy for the last two months then why change.

In all fairness its got to be what you prefer the look of best.......if you like the idea of a warrenty, then buy one for the car you have from a warrenty company.

Well the concensus seems to be stick with the wagon, if I wanted a PPP on it, where would I get it done and roughly whats the cost? I live in Sheffield and there are 2 main Subaru dealers close by, or would it be something i'd get done @ the scoobyclinic?

i'm not sure you can get the ppp for my00 from the dealers still, you'd be better off going for a second hand ppp ecu or ecutek remap, or a ecu from a my99 turbo if yours is a green stickered ae802

then samco hoses and full/partial decat.

cheers matt

or maybe upgrade the brakes first

I bought a PPP ECU off s.net, got the Samco hoses and a partial decat.
The total cost was a fraction of the dealer quote
No certificate but that doesn't matter to me in the least.

I've got a scoob with PPP, and as I understand it you can get a lot more grunt out of going for non Prodrive bit and pieces.

Only thing stopping me at the moment from getting a new exhaust and ECU is the warranty invalidation problem. No way round that and I'm gonna have to bite the bullet at some point, but not something you have to worry about with the wagon?

PS Sorry iof its teaching youto suck eggs, but worth remembering, dealer wouldn't be offering a straight swap unless he thought he was the one getting a good deal.
