Found a switch , dont know what it does

Found a switch , dont know what it does
Their is a switch on top of the steering column in my 01 euro import wrx , it looks like it should be the hazzard light switch but that is on the dash, I cant make out what it does from the handbook as its in german. Doesnt seem to do anything when I flick it, what does it do ?.

You mean as in when ive parked the car and gone i can leave the side lights on. I was wondering about that as it kills all the lights when you switch off the ignition. Thanks for the quick reply.

It was my understanding that you have to use parking lights if you park on the wrong side of the road only, but then you have to use them whether the road is lit or not. It also has to be dark

It's a cunning device to flatten the battery.
What happens is:
1. Polish interior of car
2. Accidentally flick switch that doesn't do anything
3. Not notice the poxy parking light
4. Fail to start car following morning.

YOU should worry, - I've found a pedal which I dont know what it's for!! - That one in the middle - seems to do nothing but slow u down........!
