Question Confused !!!

Being a scooby virgin it's all gettin a bit confusing regarding all the different versions of the impreza there are .

I'm in the middle of getting rid of my old car & am looking at impreza's,i've even bin to my local dealer to have a look at costs etc,i've seen a couple in my local autotrader a WRX UK300 & a STI version 8.

Can somebody tell my the main difference's in the 2 without me gettin a headache
thanx alot people

Well there aint no such thing as an STi version 8, they stopped the versions at 6, so it is either a 2003/2004 car.
The UK 300 is a wrx with a nice bodykit and some other bits, 215bhp out of the box though some did have the prodrive performance pack fitted, the STi will be the better of the 2 cars tbh, and the 300 denotes the 300 ltd edition run they made, not the bhp.
STi is definately the one to go for

WRX UK300 was a ltd edition to help shift the last of the hard to sell bug eyes (although the uk 300 did get a different set of lights) before they moved onto the latest shape.
(i think the above is right)

is the uk300 at your local dealer in derby?

and i agree with tony that the sti is the better car to go for.

The numbering stopped at 6 for a reason, but it also stops confusion.
The UK never had version 1-6, so really ours would be a version 1, as its the first one we had, if you call it a 7, then its actually not, as the 7 would have been an MY01 JDM car, and the MY02 would have been an 8 (MY03 a 9 and so on), and as we didnt get the STi until it was an MY02..... so as you see, its much easier to distinguish using the MY system (and less confusing).

The uk300 is a nice car but the ride is still a bit soft in the corners for my taste, the STI is a better car alot more solid.
