Question Geometry @ The 'Clinic - Are they as......

....good as Powerstation or TSL ?????

Got my 30k service due and was thinking I might get the droplinks and geo done at the same time. I know it's mainly a case of knowing the best settings, but has anyone had theirs done there and been as happy as the people who rave on about PS and TSL. I could just about justify a run to TSL, but PS is way, way too far.

Thanks in advance

I had my geom done at Powerstation and the car was fabulous at the last Rallydrive trackday Best mod I have done on any car.

I have also been down to Scoobyclinic and had a tour. The geom set up gear they have looks very similar to Powerstation's.

If I was you I would get it done at Scoobyclinic as the drive to Powerstation is like you say very long.

Damian.

Cheers mate. I gather they will know the best settings, or should I troll around on here to find them and go prepared ? I'll give them a ring in the morning anyway.

Question

Heard a lot on here about droplinks and geometry... what actual difference do these mods make?

Scoobyclinic are very good mate. If you have the correct settings, and they have the laser alignment gear- it will make very little difference who actually does the job.

I have mine done locally to prodrive tarmac spec- costs me £30- and it does work well. Some charge more for the same adjustments though....

The droplinks are a solid metal replacement for the flimsy plastic OE ones which flex quite a lot before the ARB takes up the weight transfer resulting in significant body roll when cornering. The geometry is simply the alignment of the wheels to the road, the car and each other. Subaru's factory tollerances are exceptionally loose, so having it set-up properly can improve handling and cornering stability substantially.

Difficult to beat Powerstation for their settings etc. You can stand there and watch and they tell you exactly what they are doing and why. The solid links make a huge difference too. Well worth losing any bumpsteer you might have too. They will test for it and get rid of it for you. The difference is like chalk and cheese, and your front tyres wear dead flat too afterwards. You save the money on reduced wear alone.
