We're talking about Subaru paint here, if you don't put them on you'll end up with the lower part of your doors striped back to the bare metal!

I've put them on my WR1 and they do seem to finish the car off well. I wasn't sure about it to start with but thought it'd be best in the end.

Look at the shape of the front wing and side sill on Chris's car above. Now look how far out the wheel sits. Without those flaps all the crap and stones of the road just spray up the sides of the front doors sandblasting them.

I've had 2 newages, the first didn't have flaps and looked awful in 5000 miles. On my second now and as it's had flaps from new although I'm at 12000 miles the doors don't have a mark on them.

Nathan..

I did find that the bottom of the doors were coated in muck after only a few miles before i put the mud flaps on. Since they've been in place the car's stayed a lot cleaner.

The PD flaps look cool as well. More subtle than the STi ones.

It all depends on what the flaps are, weather or not the falps make the car (scooby) good or worse.

The Black Prodrive ones look the muts nuts on a black car not sure on other colours tho.

I fitted these to protect the door paint, a must really. slightly larger than the prodrive stone deflectors of old.

Look at all that clay based polish trapped in the door seam - get a good wax instead

I must be the odd one out here. I've seen the Prodrive flaps on several cars now, and although I can't say they look that good on a WR1 (sorry Tom) I think they look awful on the black STi I see round my way. Way too big for my taste, although if you have a decaled up rally rep they're great.

What I, and others, did on my STi was to modify the small subaru flaps like those supplied with the P1 18s. Far more subtle, and did the job just as well. Still have a set, so will probably put them on the WR1 when I can find the time. Also a heck of a lot cheaper.

Do It!! mudflaps are good imho, i fitted the sparco ones from jap innovations they cost me a bargain £40 iirc in blue but you dont have to fit the sparco stickers, you can get some sti or the like made up at a local sign shop for about 15£

thats my 2ps worth.

They're on the Subaru website, not sure if they'd fit a classic or not. It'd be best to give you're local dealer a call.
