Talking Do you get any grief from your neighbours.......

...about how noisy your car is in the morning.

Mine tend to comment down the pub.

"Late going to work this morning were we?" Just to let me know they heard me

I'm sure some neighbours hate it though

The only reason they comment is because you make them late!

There's nothing clever about having a loud exhaust and waking the neighbours, it's a really low class thing to do, especially if the car is crap.

My neighbours actually like it.
They use me as an alarm clock every morning!
My car sets their dog off and he wakes them up

Thank goodness my neighbors are cool with it but I don't have a "loud" exhaust.

Does anyone know if there is anything they can do about a loud exhausts early in the morning? The reason I'm asking is a guy at work was complaining to me about a neighbour that starts her TVR tamora every morning a lets it idle for 20 mins before she drives off. He said he has phoned environmental health, but is there anything they can do?

That is something I will thoroughly enjoy when we get our car back, with full de-cat, load of stuffy nosed ******* round here, can't wait to p!ss a few off with a few revs, if they have the nerve to complain, they will be told where to go

That is assuming we will have our car back sometime soon

LOL I wonder what your new neighbours will make of it once they have bought the houses and moved in

I normally don't make a noise, never have music loud or anything, but sick of all the curtain twitching round here

The de-cat will give them something to listen to while they're having a gorp , teach 'em for being nosy

Yours work mates options are as follows:

1) Environmental Health is a difficult route, 3 telephone complaints and 1 letter will get a noise monitor installed in the house and checked weekly/fornightly. Problem is exhausts noise is made up of alot of reverberation (low frequency vibration), so noise monitor will turn up poor result.

2) A couple a grand will buy a nice multi coned acoustic barrier on the front of the house, like those used on generator doors. Very bloody ugly and planning permission required.

3) Good all straight talking/good communication. Kindly request the neighbour to park the car with the exhaust facing away from your house. BEST OPTION i do think.

Sorry to be a clinical.
