Thanks in advance

I've driven an MY03 scooby with this & it was a big improvement over standard.
Bags more torque & flexibility.
IMHO it is excellent value considering your warranty remains intact.
Try the Search function as there have been loads of threads about this

Erm was really after what kind of difference it will make to the car (sry didn't word well)
What does TEK 3 mean? I gues it something to do with the remapped ecu????
Thanks for response tho
Warrenty and insurance mean its ppp or nowt
Did deal with dealer to get it fitted for 1500 when i bought the car new and they're honoring it so .......... (100 quid a few pints i suppose ;-) )

Sounds like a good deal then, the car will drive much better, you will get about 40bhp more power and I think its about 50ft/lb of torque.
Have a look at this.

I have got similar mods on my 03 and its very good!

No-one got owt to add?
Come on help build the excitement here for me (i suppose you could also burst my bubble)
Are the prodrive figures right (they sound a bit too quick to me) and they're faster than Subarus qouted figures - Who's right or are Prodrives figures from high rpm launches while Subaru's are not?

Not really worth it. Have an 03 WRX with PPP and for the cash I really don't think the performance gain is all that noticable. Really think an STi would have been better buy but was put off by the gold wheels and the OTT spolier. I'm now paying considerably more insurance, a much higher excess and the number of companies would will even quote reduced significantly (and I'm 33!).
It does sound a hell of alot better though but I'm sure there's far better ways to get a nicer sound without invalidating your warranty if you have a freindly local dealer and fit the right parts.

Got an 04 WRX SL with the PPP and 18" PFF7's and STi spoiler, Looks the mutt's nutts, and goes very well. I have had quicker cars but it did manage to stick right on the tail of a standard 04 STi. Excellent car considering it's for the wife. I think the prodrive figures are more than a touch optimistic, but hey, it's good for bull**** down the pub

PPP is worth it for definate, makes driving the car loads more fun and makes it sound 10x better too.
It also gets reflected in your resale value as its an official modification and you get the Prodrive fitting certificate which supports this. I got around £500 more for my car when I sold it (MY03 PPP) than if it was a standard car, fair enough thats quite a loss but it was worth it IMO.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the replys:
(I posted my dealings with Liverpool Victoria (which ended really well re PPP) is the post someone mentioned)
In summary from what you guys have said:
Everyone thinks it makes the car sound way better
One or two says not much extra performance
Most say or sound like they're saying i'll enjoy the extra power and while prodrive's 4.8 is bollox 5.2 like the STi is prob more like it
Fair appraisal????????? - hope so cos that says to me that i've done the right think ordering it

It's worth it if you want to keep the warranty
I had it fitted to my bugeye after 20K miles and the difference is great - OK, not what you might get with a full decat and remap (Tek 3) but the PPP allows the car to breathe and the mid-range punch is a lot better even though the figures say only 40bhp upgrade etc - it's the torque figures where you benefit.
with having mine fitted "late," I got used to the nuances of the non-PPP car and also the engine was nicely run in. I sometimes think that people who have it fitted either from new or near-as-damn-it new don't appreciate the change you get and then are always looking for the next performance hike / get bored with the existing setup quickly... it then becomes a glowing credit card to get the next fix
plus, start budgeting for other mods - brakes and suspension are good ones to take the extra "flexibility" - it's OK getting up to humungous speeds but you've got to be able to stop and go round corners as well (unless all you want to do is drive Santa Pod)
another good area to look at is driver training - nobody's perfect and scoobs can be a fair sized handful if you're not used to the handling and you're not invincible - just thing of Phil Mills in Germany and you haven't got a roll cage - someone on here once said that scoobs still have accidents (or "incidents") but they tend to be big ones...

enjoy it
PS If you want them and have space for them, ask for the bits the dealer takes off when they fit the PPP - back box, intercooler hose, centre cat etc just in case for later. You can't have the old ecu as it's an exchange unit and goes back to Prodrive for remapping for the next person to get PPP
PPS if you've got a UK supplied car with the standard alarm, remember to take all your sets of keys with you as they reprogram the keyfob / alarm to the ecu (or sumfink like that )
PPS (last one I think ) check the jubilee clips on the turbo compressor housing are tight as I know of someone who's had the pipe blow off a few times and then was told that the kit includes "uprated" jubilee clips which hadn't been fitted Mine used the originals and I haven'd had a problem to date (fingers crossed )

Anyone that claims the performance isn't up to much should return the car to their dealer for a check-up.
After mine was fitted there was a big difference in performance and more MPG, useful!! Plus a great sound.
And don't forget the Prodrive springs, driving lights..........

A boost guage is good for checking that you are reaching the correct levels for the PPP. Mine reaches around 19PSI, in the higher gears.
Anyone know what a standard WRX max boost is, in PSI?

bugeye standard boost for me was 14psi and 18 with PPP (measured with Defi gauge)
03 & 04 models might be slightly higher due to developments on the car by subaru / prodrive
