Default Advice & Opinions P1 Value

I feel a bit sh*t posting after reading about Tunnelmeister getting his nicked. I had my M3 Evo nicked out my drive a few years ago. Barstewards even left a puddle of petrol. Police said they would have filled it in the drive so they would not have to stop before the border. nice touch.
Anyway thoughts out to you . I felt violated.

Buying a P1. Got chance of 00X with 43,000 on clock. Very clean from min dealer but has funny scripted number plate and pictures of Scooby Doo on it. Makes me think in was a mental defective that was driving it previously. They want 18995. I think this is a couple of grand rich after a web search.

Am I correct or just being miserable? Opinions valued.

Stevie, P1s can attract high prices in the private ads too. The dealer is asking a bit much given that it's not a low milage example and doesn't have any of the upgrades. For 18K I'd want a mint low mileage example. You should be able to pick a good un up for 16.5K and above privately. Steer clear of anything that seems cheap that hasn't been meticulously serviced and really cherished!

Janner's looks nice ;-)

Best.

Stevie, I appreciate your feelings and thank you, we still feel terrible about the loss. I can't believe how much of a 'family member' the mota had become.

But, the P1 is still an awesome piece of kit. Make no mistake, with expert advice and not much modification, they are still a top performing mota right up there with the 'best' of the newage.

If I start again, I would start from standard, no tints, bits or tarting and would make it as personal all over again.

Check out the guy's on P1WOC, i'm sure they will help.

Cheers,

Steve.

Stevie

I bought mine off here last November and (touch wood) have had no problems - it even came with extended subaru warranty for over 18 months - better than any dealer warranty you'll get.

The one Janner is selling looks good value and it has 18's and Alcon brakes (well worth having) - I can't vouch for the car but probably worth checking out if you want a good P1 and don't want to pay inflated dealer prices.

Try Jon Vicker at Millwood Mitsubischi in Dursley, Gloucester. I have just sold him my P1, Y 2001, 12,500 miles only, warranty to Jul 05, mint with FSSh, Firestorm, morettes, 11mths MOT and loads of tax. Traded in for an Evo last Thursday, so he may have shifted it by now - but t/in was £16k - so expect to pay £18k/£19k.

Mileage is totally genuine and all the mods had been done by Subaru in Bristol

STEVEIE

Ive had my P1 for 2 months now X-Reg 41000 on clock bought from main dealer Northampton area paid £16995 for it and its Brilliant. As it was from dealer you get the 1000mile or 30day guarantee incase you find any nasty bit for A FULL REFUND worth it when spending that sort of money and the extended warrenty covers all other bits anyway.
I had a slight judder on my clutch which i realised a week later rang dealer back and got a new clutch fitted no questions asked,
hope this helps. piece of mind i call it
