Angry A growing trend of untrustworthy people on Scoobynet?

I recently agreed to buy an item from another member of this BBS (who shall remain nameless at present). After agreeing a price I sent him a check for the item. I then spent over a week chasing delivery of the item and was told "I forgot to post it, I was working away". Then it was "Oh my flat mate was supposed to post it" and finally "I posted it yesterday its on its way to you". This was last Wednesday (yes over week). I have now emailed this person and asked for the return of my money as it doesn't look like the goods have been dispatched. Is this a growing trend with people on this forum? When I started coming on here 5 years ago I felt I couild truct people but now it seems like its dog eat dog f**k the rest. So shall I name and shame?

I have bought quite a few items from people on here, on the SIDC site and on ebay and have not had any problems. Maybe I've just been lucky.

I did wonder if there should be a points system on our personal profiles like that of ebay on buying/selling, 'trolling' type warnings etc.

A week isn't that long, I'd give the person a warning of your 'name and shame' intention before doing it, it might make them post the item to you quickly!

The same guy has had loads of bits for sale over the last month, some of them quite expensive. I am wondering if anyone else has bought any and is in the same situation? He is based in London.

If you tell us who he/she is then we can tell you if we've bought from them.

I tend to agree PM the guys who bought the other stuff if they all recieved goods OK. it maybe that he's been called away urgently Family or Work and unable to reply/send goods on, so maybe not dishonest at all.

Certainly it's worrying to any buyer, but I still don't agree with name and shame straight off Wait for his reply, no reasonable explanation received then Name him.

even though i have bought things from peeps on this board and would like them yesterday you have to remember that some people do take a little time to turn around , and although it might seem bad to you as your thinking youve been stitched the other person might actually have a life that is preventing him from posting out the item on time just a thought

Ive been in talks with Neil about purchasing his Type R bottom End, and he has been very helpful and first impressions he seems trustful-honest etc

Hopefully things will get sorted for everybody concerned soon and the ic spray turns up!

Andy

Maybe it was a simple misunderstanding, as English is clearly his second language.

I wouldn't put it as high as second!!

Shameful.

That ic spray is probably winging it's way around Norway if he wrote out the address!

As for the cheque finding it's way, well....................

Maybe it wasn't even a spray but a seat???
