Question MAF HELP!??

Hi

I tried to replace the MAF on my MY98 UK Turbo but the new one looks like it won't fit?!.. Can anyone help me? Have I ordered the wrong MAF for my car, or for some reason has my car got a different spec setup?.. The new MAG i have is a 4-port, but the old one is 3??.....

This is the airbox on my car:

This is the new MAF:

Any help is appreciated!

Cinders.

the 98 model MAF was a lot better than the 99/00 apparently. therefore if yours is not playing up i would not replace it. the 99/00 one is the one that causes the most problems (read engine failures) and is the one many people say to change annualy.

I was just going to replace it as a "service item" as I've been servicing the car, have no problems except a small flat-spot about 2800rpm, hoped it might have got rid of it, however I suspect the Lambda is causing that...

I'll just take this one I've got here back for a refund.

How do you check your MAF just unplug it at idle and hope the car stalls?....

If the dealer wont give you a refund/exchange, Ill have the 99/00 MAF

yes the engine should stall I believe, I tried it on my mates (see thread in Gen Tech) and it doesnt stall idle just goes lumpy, however mine does stall if you unplug it
