Question Unleaded to BP Optimax

When I first filled my car up I had to choose standard unleaded as there was no super unleaded or equivalent...

Do I need to reset the ECU as I am now using Optimax or doesnt this make a difference for the first 1000 miles?

And apart from that having a superb time

depends on your ECU, what MY car do you have?

for a rough quide MY99 and onwards don't bother, pre99 its probably worth doing.

Its a MY04, read some things about different fueling and getting the ECU to adapt to the higher RON rating

Thanks for the quick reply

The MY04 ECU will detect the new fuel and adjust accordingly.. no need to reset anything... you had to do that on the pre "buy eye" cars only.....

so am i right in saying a p1 will need resetting if i have changed the fuel?
if so is it just the simple case of disconnecting the +ve terminal for some time? from the battery and will this mean i will have to mess around with the alarm or anything?
thanks
