New Scooby Owner - Needs advice and Inspiration!
Lo all
Just signed up here, and frig me this is a big forum!!
So hopefully I can get some help.
I only bought my scooby about 3 months ago, it is a '99 T, bog standard apart from the SS system on it and an induction kit and dump valve.
Now my little beast is Red, which I dont mind, but I am struggling to find inspiration on which set of alloys to have fitted that will look sweet on the car...
Have any of you guys n gals got links to some piccies of Red modded scooby's, so I can find some inspiration on what to fit?
I dont like the look of gold on red, so that aint happening.
My mods are usually very subtle, so I wont be going down no silly 9ft wide bodykit routes.
All I am looking to do right now is:
1) Have bodykit colour coded (so if you know of anyone in South Yorkshire area who colour codes, please let me know. Cos my black skirts are evil!)
2) Fit 17" or 18" rims
3) Boost gauge
Once that it done, I will start on the engine.
But if anyone can help me with ideas on what to do or where to go in my area (Rotherham) please can you let me know.
Thanks peeps.

do the brakes and suspension before spending too much on the engine my friend- you'll reap the rewards. then maybe an ecutek remap is the most sensible first move engine-wise.

I am learning already.
The style I need to sort out.
I dont like the completely stock version of my car.
Although when I wax it down on a sunny Saturday it looks sweet.
Who and what is recommended for brakes and suspension?
I havent looked into this side of it yet, so that will be a steep learning curve for me.
I am a mad PC freak tbh, as I own a online hardware store, but my other passion is bikes and cars.
Bikes are out the window now, missus not happy with the busy roads no more, so now I am full on with the scooby. Mate has a new M3, and I MUST punish him when setting off from the lights!!
I just need to know which companies are good and which ones to avoid when it comes to spending on my little motor.
I looked at scoobyclinic today, and they do look good, and I MUST get the colour coding done ASAP.
Are they a good company to deal with?
Any one got experience of them?
Particularly the colour coding?
I'll shut up now!

If you want some ideas for wheels and styling then check out this website.
My car is the first two pics 8 rows down. Gold wheels though I'm afraid (each to their own!)

Happy hunting.

Sweet, now thats what I needed!!
See now your car looks well becos it has the kit colour coded, whereas I could have had mine with 17" Gold OZ's on it for £800 more.
But mine have black skirts still, I didnt like them against the black.
Yours does look very nice indeed, did you get yours colour coded locally mate?
It looks as tho they did a nice job!

Is it easy to fit a Boost gauge yourself?
I have never done it, but wouldnt mind having a go...
Just wondered if it is a simple job?

looked a lot better than standard. The wheels arent the best i know lol, so no comments! I sold the car before i got to the wheels (which were better than the 15inch brown things they replaced)

How long do they normally keep your car for whilst doing the colour coding?
Just wondering how long I might be without it for.
I know you cant say for sure, thats down to them, just trying to get a guide for it.
I'll give them a call shortly tho, as I think I'll get this done ASAP.

The wheels are 18" OZ Prodrives which I've seen a fair bit on P1's. You can get them in anthracite if you prefer.... not cheap though!

This is from another thread on here (thought I'd post a direct link to the piccy), but it's on the groupbuy rear spoiler one if you want to ask someone about them.
Think the wheels really suit a red classic and are very different from your bog standard silvers (unless you get some unqiue silver ones of course).
clicky

Yeh me thinks so...
He has convertible, which is .2 slower on take off.
Only problem being, he has SMG box, so has a tad of an advantage over most manual gear changers.
Besides, with a few grand into a scooby, I can up the BHP.
A few grand for him buys him either a service or a new set of tyres! lol
Blueboy - That is a sweet scooby.
Talk about clean, looks as tho it never left the showroom!!

Sorry, I missed one thing in that lot somewhere...
Is it easy to fit a Boost Gauge?
I have never done it, but would like to if I can do it without buggering anything up.
Is it simple enough?
