Various people I have spoken to have given different responses.

There are different type's of LSD's, some work on a clutch plate principle and will "slip" to allow cornering, inner and outer wheels travelling at differrent speeds. fitted to rear
The other is a fixed geared arrangement which allows the most Torque to go to the side with most grip. (SureTrac Sti front)
This is a very, very basic explanation of the difference's of the two and appologees to you Technical Buff's, who'll soon will give you the Definative

(DCCD-A) Driver Controlled Centre Diff-Auto is fitted to the WR1/STi10JDM and optional extra on the MY04STiEU not sure on UK!! this varies the amount of Torque delivery to front and rear wheels. Simular to DCCD fitted to Classic STi's and 22B's but now with an Auto mode.
That how it works site is far better than me wittering on LOL
IIRC IMHO AFAICR etc

WTF? Have you been taking speed, or maybe something even more mind-expanding this morning Tony?
Yes. It has the same transmission layout adopted by previous UK specification WRX's and Turbo 2000's. i.e. a viscous coupled limited slip diff in the rear axle, and another viscous coupled diff in the centre. The front diff is a regular "open" item without any slip limiting component.
Does the MY04 WRX have limited slip differentials ?

Powerkiter,
See how someone "who know's there stuff" only takes a few lines to explain things and those who "think they do" pages! and then it's wrong!
I'll just sign off and do another line, of white stuff (not really)
