Default F.A.O ScoobyECU guys...

Hi,

I have just fitted a ScoobyECU supplyed by David, it has tranformed the car but the only thing i have left to do is sort the boost, i am running a manual boost controller (set at 12psi) and was just wondering what it would be best to set it at, or to just take it off alltogther...

Am i right in thinking about 15psi would be about right...!!!

I have read that MBC's can aid spool up, is this true...

Thanks in advance...

John.

IIRC, David's maps run ~16psi as standard, but best to ask him really.

Try it with the standard boost solenoid at first, you might find it spools up early anyway depending on what David has done with the boost map, but on my ScoobyECU the MBC gave me full boost nearly 1000rpm sooner (not one of David's maps)

Yeah i think keeping the MBC would be the way to go, although not sure what psi to run it at, talking to david through email at the mo...

Anyone else have experiences running MBC with ScoobyECu...!!!

Cheers,

John.

Greeno - take off the MBC, see how much boost the map is set up for, refit the MBC and set it to the same boost pressure. Safest way.

John,

Remove the MBC and see what boost you get.

Have you got...

Aftermarket dumpvalve? - replace with oem and try again.
Weak Actuator? - Adjust preload to remove slack - try again.
Check all hoses for leaks.

It should run 15~16psi without help from a boost controller, if it doesnt then something isnt correct.

Dawes / mbc can help get better spool up..

Some 'custom ish' scoobyecu's have been known to run ~21psi on a td05 legacy.. but not to be recommended as it kills gearboxes.
