Question BP ULTIMATE

Hello,
As a rule i always keep my scoob topped up with optimax, but it is nearly a 20 mile round trip to my nearest shell station so its a bit of a hassle. the BP station 1/2 a mile away has just started stocking BP ultimate and i was just wondering on peoples views of the stuff. I have a standard JDM WRX. I use the car as a day to day family car with the odd late night thrash round with the other local jap boys, so not that much hard driving. should i stick with optimax or go BP?
thanks.

Used BP Ultimate (or SUL before Ultimate was available) the whole time in my Scoob (6+ years) and never noticed a problem.

I generally use Shell over BP, but I wouldn't drive 20 miles out of the way for it. In your case I would go for the BP unless I just happened to be passing the Shell garage when I needed to fill up!

Guys.

Ultimate is still 97RON whereas Optimax is 98.6 (or close to it); 98.6 will be better for the JDM's which really need 100RON.

X.

PS

Mines a WRX STi Ver V ie JDM and I use Optimax all the time; my Shell garage is only 2 miles away though!

Ultimate is 5p a litre dearer than Optimax round my way. I used Ultimate last week as I cba to go to my Shell, never again though felt like a bag of turds after filling up with Ultimate.

Optimax kicks *** and you get free Trump cards with it now, jesus what more could you ask for.

I've not noticed any performance differences with my MY02 Uk Sti, but I definitely get more mpg with Optimax compared with Ultimate (about an extra 30-40 miles per tank). So, I try to stick to Optimax whenever I can...

Cool

Had my new car for a week now (my00 with ppp) and have filled it twice, the first time with Optimax, the second with Ultimate. The car feels noticably better with optimax and had better economy.

Guess you know what I'll use next time!

Especially with the 15 mile drive through fast A roads!!
