Default WR1 versus 'Solberg Edition'

Does anyone know the difference between the WR1 and the European (I think) 'Solberg Edition'? I've tried trawling through the 'net to find details, but it's not too easy (as most of the web pages seem to be in Swedish or something!). I've been discussing getting a new 'Solberg' (cheap - 23K) - and want to know if it's worth it.....

yeah - believe it is same power as standard STI; but that's easily sorted fairly cheaply. do you know anything else re: spec (wheels, front grille, diffs etc). also, what's the view on the 23K price (with 3yr subaru warranty)

Do you still get the 3 year warranty if you bring one of these in?

The "Solberg Edition" is basically the base car on which all the Prodrive goodies are added to produce a WR1. Thus, standard Euro-STi 265ps output, standard STi springs, standard 17" Subaru wheels and so-on.

As has been said, if it's from the EU, Subaru UK will recognise the warranty. Obviously though, you won't be able to get the WR1's engine map or the "normal" PPP fitted, and if you go about trying to up the power via third party methods (EcuTeK etc.), you lose the warranty in the process.

Bearing this in mind, I'd suggest that a Japanese market import would provide a better basis for a modifiable car than a Euro "Solberg". Apart from anything else you'll then get the equal length manifolds and twin-scroll turbo.
