aftermarket products and tek3
had car mapped but im unhappy with the map, tdo5 turbo doesnt come on boost till 4000rpm
is there any aftermarket product i can use to get the turbo in earlier or is it in need of a better mapper. think there was some mention of not being able to get enough air in to get the turbo boosting earlier

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the TD05 Turbos, being bigger than the TD04's take longer to spool up, and therefore coming on boost at 4k rpm sounds about right
My TD04 starts spooling around 2.8-3k

There is a way of telling what the "hardware" will do...
Pull off the hose that feeds the wastegate actuator and cap the hose end with a screw to stop it leaking.
Then drive on part throttle and get to 2000 RPM in 5th gear and go wide open throttle. Stop when you reach 1 bar and note the RPM.
DO NOT continue on WOT for more than a very short time after 1 bar as the boost will rise very quickly and if it overboosts you will hit fuel cut or possibly damage the engine and/or turbo.
At your own risk, it is an easy test to do, but do not let the car overboost.

the turbo was reconditioned and looked new and also had the air intake ported so i expected better form this turbo
you did a map for me before when i had my tdo4 turbo on and i think the car pulled better with your old map as ive got an RA gearbox fitted
im the one who was falling asleep and we finished at 11.30pm on friday night

I remember, but the TD05 should kick you in the ar$e up the road in a completely different league to that.
I would check out the mechanicals first with this simple test, only danger to it is not lifting off if it boosts too high.
