CEL Warning light after full decat fitted
Full decat system fitted to Jap STi V4 Type R
Shortly followed by the Engine warning light appearing....
x3 long & 2 short flashes
This seems to sugest the oxygen sender (according to the graph I have seen)
So....
The downpipe from the turbo back has a blocked off 11mm or so hole (cat temp? / EGT?) & the larger lambda probe (fitted & voltage checked so far looks ok have not swapped with another however...)
Decat made a HUGE difference, sound, boost, pickup etc but have a engine warning liht that will not go away!
Also the bloody airbag light will not stop lighting up.
Disconnected the battery for 20mins - same.
Please help & suggestions / ideas VERY welcomed...
Help...... :-(

I can't help wih your technical question, but I can enlighten you with regards to the search function.
It is currently only available to ScoobyNet Plus members, because it is still being tested (to ascertain server load etc), and because a chunk of old posts still haven't been indexed yet.
It will be available to all users as soon as possible!

but here goes, Do a search on Fault codes on bss.sidc.co.uk. in FAQs
I believe the 02 sensor is only checking gases/emissions it does not effect ECU control. Does you car go OK ?? There is a electronic box available to plug in the O2 sensor to foul the ECU that emmissions are OK.
Not sure why the Airbag flashes unless the O2 plug is shorting out somewhere or bad earth one for a Auto electrician maybe.

It's common with de-cats some cars get it some not, mine was on constantly. It's a 50p fix if you get the right resistor from maplin. Theres a thread about it now in technical (drivetrain or general i don't remember)

Tony, car pulls like a sodding train!! so no probs there. Just nervous as hell in case I mistake the flashing for the known problem & miss new ones!
The cel fix is worth a bash tho... still searching the web - got this page on constant refres tho !

Unplug the connection (male and female) that leads to your egt probe. Get your 15 pence, 2.2K ohm resistor (from Maplins) and stick one end of the wire part of the resistor into one of the female "holes" of the connection you have just pulled apart and then insert the other end of the wire into the other female "hole" located next to the first hole with the wire in. This effectivley makes a loop or "U" bend in the connection and this fools the egt into thinking nothing is wrong. Tape the whole thing up and tie it back to something with tie wraps
Job done

Buzzer sorry mate....
I have two holes in the downpipe from the turbo - on has the lambda probe inserted & the other is blanked off - In addition to this I have another sender that is simply tie wrapped back - uncertain what that does but is a different thread to the 2nd hole! BPM full system.
Do I need to remove the lambda probe - attach the resistor - and then re-attach? - Or is the 2nd sender (tie wrapped & not connected) to have this done... really sorry - confused
Thanks for your patience!!!

Have a de-cat up pipe, sports cat down pipe, decat middle section & ecutek on my MY02.
A few weeks ago I got a 546 error code which I had cleared by my local dealer. A couple of days later the engine check light came on again. So I've fitted a 2.2k resistor into the EGT socket as suggested, but engine check light is still on.
Do I need to get this cleared again by the dealer, or will it clear itself after a few miles?
Many thanks

Wow! you've re-started an old thread there
Have the same problem on an MY01, I'm pretty certain you have to have it reset by the dealer, cant just disconect the battery.
Mine is going to a local specialist to have it sorted, hopefully
