How Do/What do you do/use to get your Scooby's so clean and shiny?
I wash mine with Halfords advanced aquatonic/hydrotonic/whatever its called, carwash and it cleans up pretty nice but then when I polish her with Colour magic she looks no better, I want her to sparkle.

I use blue colour magic as mine is a Classic blue "555" edition.

Cheers in advance.

LOL, i was going to say Silicone spray, but that's another story..

For a car, get yourself some Swissol, if you can afford it. Do you ever go to the Halfway House or Dick Turpin meets? If you do, you're welcome to see what this stuff can do for a car first-hand. I think you'll be impressed.

Swizzol is good but its very very expensive and i havce seen BETTER results from other products sold in the states. Your best bet is to give Alex Creasy a call at Serious Performance who only sells high quality products and he will be able to guide you in what to buy for the optimum shine. http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/

Swissol is without doubt the best I've ever used.

Contact Fulham71 (on this forum) as he's a Swissol rep, at

Gerry, such as what?

And you are NOT allowed to say Meguires. OR Zymol.

Tiz, no i don't have pics to post i'm afraid, and in any case they don't do it justice - you have to see it for real, amongst other cars, when the difference is really noticeable. Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed - treat yourself!

Do you find a certain type of cloth is better than another type?

Swissoil does seem the favourite on here , but if you don't want to shell out that much try Zimoil , you can get it from Halfords (sometimes) it's in a light green bottle , along with the Zimoil wash it works a treat , and it's only about £11 ish a bottle .Oh and it smells great !

Yep.

To wash the car, use a top quality flannel. Ditch your sponge.

To apply wax, one of Swissol's wax applicators is ideal (as it should be!).

To buff afterwards, a top quality towel. (Like the flannel, Swissol provide these if you want, but i end up sounding like a Swissol rep!). Final buff with another clean towel (you're talking to a prefectionist).

For the windows, an E-cloth, available from places like Lakeland. Unbeatable.

To wash your car ditch ordinary sponges and get the Decosol sponge from Halfords, it is designed for washing cars with a soft fabric backing on one side to help the water onto the cars surface where it should be and not let it out between your fingers. Use less shampoo than is specified not more (once you have the surface protected). Rinse the big crap off before you start. Clean the car from the top down.
Dont use a polish, a polish does what it says, it polishes the surface of the car, its like using wet and dry the finer you get the smoother and shinier the surface looks. But they all scratch the surface, the bulk of polishes are made up from clay. Thats why when you get it into grained plastic it dries white. The better the polish the finer the clay and the smaller the scratches (check the surface with a magnifying glass, its easy to see). There are small amounts of resins or waxes in to try and protect the surface.

So dont affect the surface of your paint, add the shine to the top in the form of a Glaze, this is the like adding a varnish or lacquer to something, you get the shine by adding. Swissol or Zymol glazes are the ones to go for. (not the Zymol cleaner POLISH from Halfords). Zymol Titanium is pretty good, now these are expenive and the first application is time consuming as you need to get all the muck and residue off before adding the glaze which mainly consist of Carnuba wax (hence the cost). You will be amazed at the results. They also last too if you use the Zymol or Swissol shampoos which dont strip the waxes off the surface like conventional cleaners. Buy the starter kits which have everything in that you need. You apply these by hand and then wipe them off, no hard polishing with this stuff.

Like I said these can be expensive but generally you spent many thousands on you car its got to be worth 50 or 100 notes to look after that money...........

By the way colour magic is one of the most aggresive polishes you can get, just one down from T cut, do not use it except to cut the surface. One other point as the glazes contain no clay they will not dry white on stone chips, but you probably already filled them with clay....

colour magic, I thought it was a wax! just spent £150 on having all stone chips and dents removed and was advised to wax car to protect it. so its good for waxing Turtles but not cars

Big thanks to all who replied. To be honest I want to get her clean as she's for sale.

go to halfords and get some halfords polishing clothes, then you need some wonder wax also from halfords, and once the wonder wax is complete put on some glide and glaze(also from halfords)that will give it the shiney shiney effect.

contact Pele at kent scoobies and she might have a couple of pics of her motor after her husband gives it a going over, its probably one of the shineyest scoobs ive seen.

Swissol for me. Got a starter kit, and after one coat she looked like this. Not the best quality photo, but you can see the reflection is pretty damn good!
