got a service coming up soon and have bought a couple of bits myself off ebay (ngk plugs, fuel filter).
just wondering if the dealer might cop a bit of a strop when i turn up with these bits and they can't charge me their inflated prices for these items?
also wondering if they might 'find' a few little problems to bump the final price up to cover their loss?
has anybody done this themselves and were your dealers ok with it?

cheers

Stan Palmers here in Carlisle have fitted various bits without any problem whatsoever........

including (in no particular order), EcuTec Example re-map, Haywood and Scott De-cat, Godspeed big front brake upgrade, lots of bits from JW Racing (Samco hoses, strut brace, droplinks), SECS, TMIC, ...it's about here I lose count but coming up is a FE TD05, Pump, regulator, STi injectors......

Oh... And the neons being fitted for a "dare" tomorow.

Does this help ???

i think along the same lines as you owain, don't trust them as far as i can throw them.
midlife, sorry i meant about supplying OEM parts, exactly the same as they would supply but a bit cheaper, the price they charge for plugs is a **** take!
shame you can't identify the oil in your car or i might look into supplying that as well.

cheers guys

not paranoid phil, just realistic.
if you've found a genuine dealer that won't overcharge or take the **** a bit to earn a few quid well done, you've found a rare one!
