Thought i'd share this with you, a friend of ours had their brand new Honda crv stolen yesterday whilst swimming at the local leisure center, a woman claimed to have lost her locker key so beleive it or not a stupid attendant opened the locker for her no questions asked. Took the car keys, house keys, and purse etc.
I always leave my scoobys keys in my locker at the gym, shall have to wear a girly bum bag now !!!!

I'd say let them have it. The baths should be liable for allowing the contents to be stolen.

At least they didn't have to break into the car to nick it. Hopefully it'll turn safe 'n' sound with no damage or itll get wrecked completely and they can get a new one.

Most places say belongings are left at owners risk. Therefore they aren't held liable if something goes walkabout.

If the locker was paid for?? then the attendant assisted in theft.

"Owners risk" is not realy worth the paper its printed on..

These are my opinions and are not ment to upset anyone from any walk of life.. Its just a simple reply to a question.

The attendant should have asked details about what was in the locker first before just handing the goods over. They should held responsible!
For all you know they could have been involved?

As said above, the organisation can try to disclaim responsibility but when negligence is involved then they cannot wheedle out of that one.

In my eyes, the baths have been negligent, therefore it's their problem and up to them to sort it out.

Case closed. Next!

Yup - I frequently had to do this when I worked at a leisure centre, there was a procedure to follow i.e. the person had to describe the full contents of the locker before they were allowed the goods as it were...big complaint ahead I would think!

Yep Forest it was in Queens park leisure centre, are you local or just know the area? . Like previous posts have said the council is solely responsible for not asking the required security questions before opening the locker, arrogant sods only coffed up for a taxi after a rather heated discussion, oh almost forgot the cctv cammera's are only used for monitoring not recorded.

Cheers for your comments,

Deano.

Jesus Deano this thread was a bit too close for comfort tonight.

my misses rang me a n hour ago saying someone had nicked her coat out of the swimming baths locker with the scoob keys in the pocket. First thing I said was quick chech the car is still there -you can imagine the cold sweat I was in till she confirmed it was!

Turned out some tw@t had taken her coat out of the locker when she was transferring her stuff to the cubicle and with the kids she'd momentarily taken her eye off the locker. They had just dumped the coat in another locker when they found no purse - call that lucky I guess!! Phew

Unhappy

Time to start having a bit of the old off with their hands routine, when they catch them, or at least tatoo their foreheads.
Barney any luck with the rattle, if not i've got a can of Wurth rubber care you can have, which should do the trick. Let me know and we'll arrange something.

Deano.
