sorry..not got a picture, but it's the cyclindrical thing on the left of the radiator. Has three rubber pipes coming out of the top. One goes into the underside of the airbox pipe, just after the MAF bit...

Yep, that's exactly what i meant...think it was the middle pipe with the little grey filter that connects to the air box pipe that was not connected...just wondered what it was for and if not having it connected would cause any problems ?

or call it "Evap. Canister".

Have a look at some online Patent databases to see what they do and how they work.

On the European Patent Office for example:

Why you would want to disconnect it? Although the JDM cars don't have one, always remember that a whole group of engineers did NOT put it there for someone to disconnect it...
Don't mess around in the engine bay if you don't know what you're doing, disconnecting this won't give any additional horses

No....it came back from a service disconnected...and I connected it back..must just have been when the timing belt was changed.

oops, sorry, I better read carefully next time before posting a reply.

I'm not sure, but there should not be any problem when the pipe is disconnected...at least short term
