I spent the weekend in Cardiff (Llandaff, to be precise).
I checked the Yellow pages for Shell garages.... Zilch. Tried BP garages. Zilch. Headed back oop North with less than a quarter of a tank in and tried six garages before I found one with 97 RON fuel. The looks I got were of the "What the hell's up with you, put diesel in, she'll be right" kind.. (LOL). My serious question is, where do you chaps get your good stuff from? -just so's I know when I visit again.

There is a Shell garage just off the A48M next to the Merc. garage that has vintage Optimax, and the Texaco service station at Cardiff Gate on the M4 does Super.
As Sammy mentioned, plenty in Newport but most is my own personal supply, so hands off

if ya in real trouble there's a Texaco selling Super, just north of Cardiff......... just north of the Gabalfa interchange on the A48......

Come off at Cardiff Gate services........
But as you come off to the roundabout, take the turnoff just before the one for the services............head about 1 1/2 miles down that road and
..............there's a SHELL garage.....good old SHELL OPTIMAX!

I feel like the bloke from the pub who buys something then everyone tells him he could have got it loads cheaper. Speaking of which, are the scandalous pump prices the same all over Wales? Ordinary unleaded costs about 2p more per litre than Optimax does at home.... and that was at a supermarket!
