Edited it cos some git swapped the 4 door image for a 2 door, wonder who it coulda bin, lets hope this one stays

Autotrader is wrong, there's no such thing as a three door Impreza unless someone's DIYed one. Type R's are two door.
The convention behind this is actually very simple. Cars gain the extra "door" if they're hatchbacks (i.e. the rear windscreen is part of the bootlid/tailgate.
Impreza Coupés are two door, because the rear window is fixed and the bootlid is exactly that. The Impreza saloons are four door, again the rear window is fixed, while the wagons are five door because the rear window is part of the tailgate, and you can gain direct access to the passenger compartment through it.
