Does anyone have any sensible suggestions as to anyone/where that you can go to get driver training on how to get the best out of your own car safely, its ok going to these race/rally schools but its not the same in someone elses car as i want to get the missus some training for xmas.
Its the same sort of thing that Honda & Mazda do if you buy their top performance cars, you get a day on the track with instruction on how to get the best from the vehicle.
Do any track days offer that sort of one to one instruction???

Have a chat with Howard at Rallydrive. He's been competing in international rallying for about 26yrs, and has his own circuit. Nice guy, too

Track Day Organiser
If you fancy a little trip down the A1/M11
The SIDC is holding four days in January with 1st Lotus at North Weald Airfield
Prices are £120 for a full day and you are only one of four people
Email me phil@sidc.co.uk if you are interested

I did the 1st Lotus Course yesterday with Andy at North Weald and I can highly recommend it. It is on an unused part of the airfield with loads of empty tarmac. It is open to all types of cars but is particularly popular with the Lotus drivers. You can use your own car (I recommend it) or I think they can organise use of a car. For £120 for a whole day you cannot find better. It is an advanced driving techniques course that focuses on cornering and braking, website http://www.carlimits.com

North Weal is Essex by the looks of it so a fair trek
The one i'm looking at is http://www.donpalmer.co.uk/ who sure aint the cheapest but is rather highly recommended. The "creative car control" course he now does is, as far as i understand it, a day spent at Bruntingthorpe (much nearer for us Midlands types) with 1 on 1 tuition from the daddy Don in well whatever you want to learn in a very safe environment as im sure anyone who;s been there will tell you very nice big run off areas even if it's a bit of a tyre eater
Anyway back on track he said to me it was usually a max of 3 people, but he could do more if he was to get additional instructors in, for the day at Bruntingthorpe worked out @ £395 each. Not cheap but as soon as my car is ready for collection i intend to do this & kill the Jap rubber
Anyone fancy that in mid Jan still got a theoretical space spare?
