My mate has a WRX import. It smokes from the exhaust quite badly when he accelerates.
Any ideas what this could be. Dodgy turbo or something?

AS A RULE OF THUMB
1. Black (ish) smoke is unburnt petrol (you're likely to see this under heavy acceleration). It also indicates the cardinals in the vatican have not yet chosen a succesor to the recently deceased pope but, in this instance, I think we can rule this out).
2. Blue smoke is burnt oil (indicates worn internals, too many possibilities to list)
3. White smoke indicates a turbo which is about to expire (but can indicate water ingress from some other avenue). White smoke also indicates the cardinals have chosen a successor to the recently deceased pope and is a precursor to great celebrations among left footed folk everywhere
Personally, I hope the colour of his smoke is black (and before the emails start, I have nothing whatsoever against catholics or the pape)

It's kind of a darkish blue almost black smoke so could be number 1 or 2. I'll tell him to get it to Power Engineering ASAP to have a proper look.
Thanks for the help guy's. It give us a head start
